Crab and Avocado Bites
I’m forever looking for new ideas for a starter. I’d bought some crab a while back and I had a few avocados screaming “EAT ME THIS MINUTE”. You know the way avocados are, if you miss their moment of ultimate ripeness you will miss out on one of the nicest food experiences around.
This is fast and easy and very satisfying. Depending on the amount of chili you use (I used A LOT) this will make your mouth sing!
Ingredients:
Good bread of your choice; 1oo g of crab meat; 1 lime; 1 ripe avocado; 1 large garlic clove; 1 shallot; 1 teaspoon of parsley; 1 teaspoon of chili powder; salt and pepper to taste.
Method:
Cut your bread to your liking. I cut my baguette at an angle and about 2 cm thick. Small tartines we shall say. Take 2 bowls. In one bowl, mix your crab meat with some salt, pepper and half the lime juice. In the other bowl, smash your avocado with the rest of the lime juice, the grated garlic, shredded shallot, chili powder and parsley. Season to taste.
Put a table spoon of crab meat on each bread bite and add a table spoon of the avocado on top.
